A Bit About Us
Working Towards a Better Tomorrow
When our founders became foster parents, extracurricular activities were an expense they could not afford. An instant family was an overwhelming experience, and sports were out of their means. With the help of others, they put their son in football, and it changed his life. When he passed away at 22 years old, their mission became to honor his legacy and create a foundation that would provide those same experiences.
According to the most recent federal data, more than 400,000 children are currently in foster care in the United States. Many times, when a child is placed into foster care, they have very few possessions. Many have never played a sport or a musical instrument. During this chaotic time, extracurricular activities may provide the safe haven a child needs.
Here at Foundation 55, we see the value in maximizing memories by providing sponsorships for extracurricular activities for a child in foster care. Learn more about our mission, our vision, and how we go about making the changes we want to see.
